Rose + Mint chai

Craving chai in the dead of summer? Use rose and mint to cool down the heating properties of black tea.

Rose’s hydrating, anti-inflammatory, and mood-lifting qualities, make the addition of rose to create the perfect elixir during the summer months.



Recipe:

ingredients:

  • 1/2 cup organic whole milk

  • 1/2 cup spring water

  • 1 tsp black tea (loose)

  • 4 cardamom pods (crushed)

  • 2 tsp organic cane sugar

  • 1 tsp rose petals

  • 1/4 tsp rose water

  • 1/4 cup mint leaves

method:

  • Pour milk and water into a small sauce pan along with rose petals and cardamom pods. Bring to a light boil - about 5 minutes.

  • Once boiling lower the heat, add the black tea, and bring the tea back to a boil. As soon as the tea comes to a rolling boil, add the mint leaves and sugar, lower the heat and simmer for 2 minutes.

  • Immediately turn off the heat and cover - let steep for 2 minutes.

  • Stain and enjoy warm!
